Traditional blocks sewn in modern festive fabrics come together to create this stunning quilt that’s sure to spread Christmas cheer. The basis of the delicate Christmas trees in this quilt are the traditional pieced Tree of Life blocks. Designer Lynne Goldsworthy adapted the shape of that classic block to make trees which are shaped more like traditional pine Christmas trees. The design also features tiny Ohio Stars which look like Sawtooth Stars with an Economy Square in the centre when they are placed on point and baubles on the stars that are raw-edge appliquéd. Borders of Lemoyne Stars in an assortment of red patterned fabrics frame the trees and add an additional Christmassy element.
The O Christmas Tree quilt pattern by Lynne Goldsworthy was first published in issue 132 of Today's Quilter magazine.
