About the design

Sew a pomegranate and clementine to celebrate the joys of winter time, plus a handy basket to display your fruits in. The clementine features six segments and you can achieve different shapes depending on how tightly the fruit is cinched. The pomegranate has six segments with an open top and French knots embroidered to replicate the fruit's seeds.

This pattern is designed by Lin Clements in issue 134 of Today's Quilter magazine.

Pattern details

This digital pattern download includes:

You will need:
For the clementine:
● Three (3) orange fabrics – 5in square of each
● Green fabric for leaves – 6in x 3½in
● Toy stuffing
● A doll needle, at least 3in long
● Pale green stranded cotton
● Templates – clementine segment and leaf

For the pomegranate:
● Red or plum fabric – 16in x 7in
● Brown fabric – 16in x 7in
● Brown fabric – approx. 3½in square
● Toy stuffing
● Brown or variegated brown stranded cotton
● Template – pomegranate

For the fruit basket:
● Print fabric for basket exterior – 13½in square
● Print fabric for basket interior – 13½in square
● Stiff interfacing – 12¾in square
● Ribbon or tape for ties – approx. 72in
