Enjoy some festive foundation paper piecing (FPP) this holiday season and sew a striking nutcracker design.

Lynne Goldsworthy's quilt design brings together a whole series of techniques to make these three fun nutcracker dolls: there is some foundation paper piecing, some raw-edge appliqué and some regular piecing. Choosing the fabrics for their outfits is half the fun of the design and a little tilt of their eyebrows can change the expressions on their faces!

This Christmas Nutcrackers pattern is by Lynne Goldsworthy and was first published in issue 119 of Today’s Quilter magazine.

SPECIFICATIONS

The digital pattern includes:
● Step-by-step instructions and diagrams to talk you through how to make it.
● Printable templates (these are UK A4 size pages which you can print out at home).

You will need:
● Red prints – Four (4) to five (5) FQs*
● Green prints – Three (3) to four (4) FQs*
● Beige prints – Four (4) to six (6) FQs*
● Black prints – Four (4) to six (6) FQs*
● Cream print – 10in square
● Background (BKG) – 51/4yds
● Binding – ¾yd
● Backing – 4½yds
● Batting – 78in square
● Fusible web – 2yds (if 18in wide)
● Templates – One (1) each of templates A, B and C, one (1) each of template sheets containing small shape details, three (3) pairs of cuff templates, three (3) head and three (3) hat templates, one (1) face tracing template, fifty-two (52) ES1 and twenty-two (22) ES2 templates

Finished size:
● Quilt: approx. 70in square
● One (1) Nutcracker: 13in x 48in
