About the design

The humble string of bunting will always have a special place in our hearts – we’ve all had a go at making it somewhere on our crafting journeys. This Flag Bunting Knitting Pattern switches the traditional triangular flag for something more nautical-themed.

You only need to use a smidgeon of yarn for each one, making it a great stash buster and an opportunity to experiment with different colour combos.

This Flag Bunting Knitting Pattern is designed by Anna Wilkinson and was first published in Mollie Makes magazine issue 55.

Pattern details

You will need:
● Debbie Bliss Baby Cashmerino, 55% Wool/ 33% Acrylic/ 12% Cashmere, 50g/125m per ball, one ball each in Baby Blue (204) (Yarn A), Coral (086) (Yarn B), Light Pink (600) (Yarn C)
● Pair of double-ended 3.25mm knitting needles
● Tapestry needle

You will make 21 bunting flags using three colour combinations, then join them together using an i-cord.

Tension:
Using garter stitch (knit every row), 25 sts and 52 rows to 10cm (4") square

Finished size:
Each bunting flag is approx. 7cm (2¾") wide and 7cm (2¾") long (excluding i-cord).
The finished bunting is approx. 3m (3yrd) long
